The Captain's new face

The wonderful folks at Moebius Models have reissued the ultra-rare 1960's Aurora Plastics' CAPTAIN ACTION model kit.  The reissue features an alternate, newly-sculpted face part created by li'l ol' me.  I got my comp copies of the kit the other day and did a quick paint job and assembly on it, just to get it on the shelf. There are a few details left unpainted -- and just like when I was a kid, I didn't worry too much about hiding the seams -- so this one'll never be a contest winner -- but I just wanted to see him on my shelf ASAP!

Capt. Action's new face

Here's a fun project I've been involved with -- Moebius Models is reissuing the ultra-rare 1960's Aurora Plastics CAPTAIN ACTION model kit. As an extra treat to the kit fans who'll be buying this, they decided to include an alternate, improved name plate -- and an alternate face part. Purists can still build the kit with the original parts -- but those wanting an improved look can go "modern" with it. I was recruited to sculpt the new face -- and here are some pics of a test shot of the kit, with that part attached.

Captain Action!

I was recently hired by the folks at Moebius Models to sculpt an alternate "box art style" face part for their upcoming reissue of the 1960's Aurora Plastics CAPTAIN ACTION model kit. They've just posted pics of a test pressing, and the finished styrene model kit should be out within a few months. In the meantime, here are some shots of my sculpt in progress and the kit as it'll be produced. For more info on upcoming CAPTAIN ACTION projects, bookmark this site: www.captainactionnow.com
