Here's the latest week of Rex strips. I'm currently working through the weekend so I can take Monday off to drive to Minnesota to spend Tuesday (her birthday) with my daughter Elizabeth -- then stick around for a few days to see family and friends. I'll be digitally drawing Rex and The Phantom while I'm there, of course. No time for any other commentary -- The Ghost Who Walks must be drawn!
If you have time, would you mind describing your portable drawing equipment? And have fun in Minnesota.
Nice work. The last strip seems sort of odd, though, with Sarah sitting on a bare floor in a basement with no decoration or furniture, not even a floor pillow. Is that the artist's or the writer's choice?
Kaz: I draw Rex with a Wacom tablet, a MacBook Pro and Manga Studio.
N. Cruz: I'd originally sketched in a throw rug for Sarah to sit on, but it made the panel too "busy," so I dropped it. As a kid, I was typically sent to the basement to do art/craft projects (painting model kits and such) that could have been potentially messy -- so it doesn't seem odd to me….
