Below you'll find a few sample panels from "Hey Kids, Comics!" (click on the image for a larger view) -- my entry in the Big Funny art show, coming to the Altered Esthetics gallery in Minneapolis on Aug. 7. My strip features an elderly Yellow Kid reminiscing about the golden age of the newspaper comic strip -- and worrying about its future.
Big Funny is also a publication -- a 48 page Sunday style full-color newsprint collection of new comics by several dozen cartoonists. The original art will be on display in the gallery -- and the comic section will be available for purchase. So if you'd like to see ALL of my comic, come to the gallery on the 7th, or pick up a copy of Big Funny. If you'd like more info, check out the official Big Funny website.
Also on display here -- the Big Funny logo and the publication itself. The show and publication are the result of the combined work of the Altered Esthetics gallery, the International Cartoonists Conspiracy and the Big Time Attic studio. I'm very pleased to be a part of the project and hope to see a great turnout for the gallery show opening.
